Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for filling out this form. We will reach out shortly by text message or email and begin a dialogue on how to build out your private cruise. Here are a few answers to questions you may have:
How does this booking process work?
We book trips by appointment, and provide you with a captain and reservation at the LA County Dock 55. The rules around small boat chartering require us to offer PRIVATE trips for up to 6 passengers.
Through the Bareboat option, we offer a 12 passenger PRIVATE CRUISE, which requires a different insurance and extra crew member. Once you click “Ready to Book” we will call and/or text you to ensure we can tailor the experience to meet your vision.
When will I be most likely to see whales and dolphins?
We are lucky to cruise in waters that have dolphin migrations year round. Different dolphin species can be seen at different times, but mainly you will see Common and Bottlenose dolphins. Generally, there are better chances of seeing these animals in the morning.
The best time to see whales is during the winter months (November - February). They're migratory animals, so remember there is no guarantee that we will find whales.
Where is the boat? Is there parking?
The boat will pick you up at Dock 55 in Marina Del Rey. You'll receive directions and parking information with your booking confirmation. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via this form.
How long does the tour last?
For harbor cruises, tours last two hours. Dolphin and whale tours are a minimum of 3 hours. We can accommodate longer tours, just let us know!
Do you serve food and drinks? Can I bring my own?
We serve water on board. Feel free to bring your own food or drinks. We have kitchen with a refrigerator and a cooler, and ice is available upon request.
How big is the boat? What is it like on board?
Read more about the boat and see photos here.
What if there's bad weather?
You will be notified via phone or email if there are high winds or waves, and tours can be cancelled at the captain's discretion. Your deposit will be refunded.
What if I get seasick?
We recommend taking Dramamine 30 minutes before your trip (while still on land).
What should I wear?
Remember that it is often cooler out on the water. Dress in layers, and bring a warm sweatshirt. Please wear sneakers or flip-flops, no heels. Don't forget to bring sunscreen.
Is it a kid-friendly activity?
Yes! Children have a great time aboard the boat. They can learn a lot and have a lot of fun. Children under 11 are required to wear life jackets, which are provided on board.
